How Brindl works
A marketplace for real people's skills, services, and handmade goods - here's exactly how buying, selling, and getting paid works.
For buyers
1. Find it
Search or browse Services and the Market. Every listing comes from a real account, not a bot.
2. Buy securely
Checkout happens on Stripe's own secure page. Brindl never sees or stores your card details.
3. Message & review
Message the seller directly with questions, and leave a review once you've received what you ordered.
For sellers
1. Post a listing
Add a title, description, price, and photos. Options, tags, and delivery time are optional but help buyers trust the listing.
2. Get paid
Connect a bank account through Stripe. Once a sale's hold period passes, your cut lands in your Stripe balance - withdraw it to your bank anytime from Account settings.
3. Handle refunds
Refund any of your own sales from your My Sales page, or mark a listing "all sales final" up front. If a buyer's problem still isn't sorted out, they can open a dispute and Brindl can refund them.
Fees & payouts
Brindl takes a 10% platform fee plus a small fixed amount per sale ($0.30 on a US sale) - comparable to other marketplaces (Upwork/eBay land near 10–13%, Fiverr takes 20%), and the fixed part just covers what the card processor charges us on every payment. The rest is yours. If the sale came through someone's referral link (see below), 5% of that 10% goes to them instead of Brindl - your cut as the seller is exactly the same either way.
Payouts hold for 3 days after a sale before your cut moves into your Stripe balance. That way a refund in those first days comes out of money that was never paid out, rather than being pulled back from you afterwards.
Refer & earn
Every account gets a personal link from Account settings. Share it anywhere - if someone clicks it and buys anything on Brindl within 30 minutes, you earn 5% of that sale, paid out the same way as seller payouts. It works on your own listings too: refer yourself a buyer and you keep that 5% on top of your normal seller cut.
Refunds
Start with the seller: message them and ask, since they can refund you straight from their My Sales page. Some listings are marked "all sales final", so it's worth checking the listing page before you buy. If a seller won't put a problem right, open a dispute on the order from My Orders - Brindl reviews it and can refund you directly. Cash-in-person sales never go through Brindl, so there's nothing for Brindl to refund on those.
Trust & safety
Every account is a real person - there's no way to list or sell anonymously. Any listing can be reported for review, and Brindl's moderation team can take listings down that don't belong.
