Getting Your First Listing Up in Under 10 Minutes
A plain, step-by-step walkthrough for creating your first listing, start to finish.
If you've never listed anything on a marketplace before, the blank "create listing" page can be more intimidating than it needs to be. Here's the whole process, start to finish.
1. Pick Market or Services
Market is for something physical you're selling — made, sourced, or otherwise handed over as an object. Services is for your time or skill — a job, a task, work you do for someone. If you're not sure which fits, ask: is the buyer receiving a thing, or receiving work?
2. Add real photos
Listings with clear, real photos of the actual item or actual work get taken seriously; listings without them don't. You don't need professional photography — a few clear, well-lit phone photos from different angles beat one blurry shot every time.
3. Write a description like you're explaining it to a person, not writing an ad
What is it, what's included, how long does it take, what should someone expect. Skip the marketing language — a plain, specific description builds more trust than an enthusiastic vague one.
4. Set a price
If you're unsure where to start, look at similar listings already on the platform. It's easier to adjust a price after your first few sales than to guess perfectly on day one.
5. Publish it
That's it — your listing is live and searchable. From here, the biggest lever isn't tweaking the listing further, it's telling people it exists.
Most of the friction in listing something for the first time is just not knowing what's expected. Now you do.
